On April 1st 2022 the BAM Project was officially kicked off with the participation of all the partners.

The BAM acronym arises from selected letters of the full project's title, which is "Blast and Fire Resistant Material".

The project’s mission is to develop two new, innovative, and smart building materials by leveraging cutting-edge technologies and sustainable practices. These materials will provide resistance against impact, blast, and fire, and will be manufactured using two distinct methods: the conventional precast method and 3D printing manufacturing. The expertise of multiple stakeholders from diverse sectors of academia and industry will be combined to produce highly innovative materials with significant impact on the building industry.

During the kick-off meeting issues related to the commencement, management, finance, and technicalities of the project were presented and discussed. The partners engaged in technical discussions and committed in the project tasks foreseen in the Grant Agreement.

The BAM Project (EXCELLENCE/0421/0137) has been co-funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and the Cyprus Government, through the RESTART 2016-20 framework program of the Cyprus Research & Innovation Foundation.
